We are seeking a Discovery DMPK Scientist (Senior Scientist II / Principal Scientist depending on experience). You will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment and will become an integral part of our vision to address patients’ unmet needs while building Britain’s Biggest Biotech. You will use your DMPK expertise and scientific curiosity to solve drug discovery challenges, as part of multi-disciplinary project teams. You will be able to work in state-of-the-art laboratory and modern facilities for optimum collaboration alongside a focused and caring team.


You will already have high degree of DMPK knowledge and be passionate about applying these skills to the discovery of novel medicines. You will have a track record of scientific achievement in DMPK science and of working with drug discovery teams to deliver high quality candidate molecules into development. Essential Experience, Skills, and Qualities
•Degree/ PhD or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacokinetics or related pharmaceutical science
•Significant amount of relevant pharmaceutical industry, biotech and/or CRO experience with a track record of contributing DMPK expertise from early discovery to pre-clinical / first in human
•A strong knowledge of DMPK science, including in vitro ADME, in silico ADME and bioanalysis
•Excellent understanding of disciplines relevant to drug discovery such as target validation and pharmacology, with experience in early development such as drug safety/toxicology and pharmaceutics
•High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability for lateral thinking
•Caring and inclusive; respectful and receptive to others’ diverse ideas, experience and perspectives, and enjoys working collaboratively with others as a team
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high attention to detail


Preferred Experience and Skills
• Ability to navigate and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrix-team work environment
• Experience in managing and working with external contract research organisations
• A knowledge of PB/PK modelling, PK/PD and non-clinical safety
• Experience of small molecule drug discovery across multiple target-types including GPCRs, solute carries
and other membrane proteins
• A creative and strategic thinker who can enthuse the DMPK group and wider OMass team with innovative ideas
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise work accordingly to project goals and take
responsibility for the timely delivery of objectives


Role Responsibilities
• Provide DMPK expertise to support a range of drug discovery projects working across Hit Identification,
Hit-to-Lead, Lead Optimisation and Candidate Selection
• Work with Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Bioscience colleagues to resolve or risk-mitigate
project-related ADME challenges in the design and optimisation of drug discovery molecules
• Design, commission and conduct appropriate experimental studies to support compound optimisation,
project progression and candidate selection to understand and resolve project ADME challenges
• Design and carry-out ADME/DMPK experiments through specialist contract research organisations
• Interpret data and write and present project reports
• Share information openly and work collaboratively with other departments to help advance different
projects and achieve company goals
• Represent DMPK on multidisciplinary projects and provide scientific leadership bring a fresh perspective
into the team and the enthusiasm to tackle new challenges and learn new skills
