This is an exciting time for the Rosalind Franklin Institute, which is currently growing many of its teams and is looking for new collaborators in a number of areas.

Call for Research Fellows

The Franklin is looking for talented researchers embarking on their first fellowship. The Franklin offers a unique environment for research, in which early career researchers can thrive. The work at The Franklin will change the way we see life. It is developing technologies which offer factor of ten advances on the current state of the art in biological imaging and chemistry.

What we can offer:

  • Collaboration with world leading research teams at Harwell
  • Access to our member network of ten UK Universities, industrial and international collaborations.
  • We will work closely with fellows to identify next steps beyond their fellowship, and offer soft landing funding with a collaborator at the end of the fellowship period.
  • Mentoring and support throughout which will develop your research career whether you decide to go further in academia, transition to industry, or take your first steps into entrepreneurship
  • Opportunities to supervise students at PhD level through our Franklin DTP and through external collaborations
  • Teaching opportunities can be arranged through collaborating organisation

Call for PhD projects

We are excited to be putting out a call for 12-week projects that will form part of the first year of our next Franklin PhD programme. Our next PhD programme will start in October 2022 with the 12-week projects getting underway at the beginning of 2023. The proposed projects need to be interdisciplinary in nature, novel, innovative and centred around the Franklin technologies.If you are interested in co-designing a project with our academics then contact us.

Careers at the Franklin

Communications Year in Industry Placement

We are looking for an enthusiastic undergraduate student to work in the Communications team at the Rosalind Franklin Institute as part of a 12 month Year in Industry placement. You will get experience in writing highlight news pieces, delivering events and schools engagement.

Senior Project Manager

As we expand our activities, we are looking to appoint an experienced project manager to build and lead a world-class project management function. The role requires a “player-manager”, equally adept at rolling up their sleeves to lead by example as well as provide strategic input on the design and implementation of key processes. You will be accountable for ensuring that our scientific and technical projects are translated into operational plans implemented effectively and completed successfully in support of our strategic goals.
