Seb’s specific experience within the life science and R&D real estate sector has seen him advise clients on the acquisition of various commercial assets as well as occupational agency matters across Cambridge and beyond. He was also involved in the sale of The Merrifield Centre in Cambridge to Life Science REIT. Further afield, Seb has advised Nottingham City Council regarding Nottingham Science Park and the University of Essex regarding Knowledge Gateway.
In his new role, Seb will be key in supporting Creative Places’ burgeoning agency work, assisting clients in the acquisition and letting of specialist R&D real estate in Cambridge and the golden triangle.
Seb commented of his appointment: “I’m delighted to be joining Creative Places, an established brand within life science real estate, to bolster its experienced team. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of the science and technology sector, which has seen substantial investment over the past two years; forming a stand-alone specialist asset class for property professionals. With a significant supply/demand imbalance of laboratory space across the UK, and particularly in Cambridge, London and Oxford, I very much look forward to working with new and existing clients to deliver viable accommodation to enable new and exciting discoveries.”
John Sommerville, Managing Partner, Creative Places added: “Specialising in real estate focussed on R&D – and life sciences in particular – we have seen strong growth in the demand for our services advising clients on developing and investing in this vibrant sector. Our client base has grown to include not only additional UK university and investor clients, but also overseas investors. To enable us to continue to provide our high-quality service we needed to add experienced, qualified resource to the team. We are therefore excited to welcome Seb, whose very specific experience will be a real asset to Creative Places.”
