BioTrinity 2024: Catalysing success in life sciences
OBN’s annual BioTrinity conference, held this week in London, was bigger and better than ever. Attended by record numbers of life sciences delegates, the event proved to be an invaluable opportunity for sector professionals to network and forge new contacts, with a remarkable 9,000 partnering meetings requested, and more than 1,500 of these taking place on site, all designed to fuel deal-making and business collaboration in the sector.
BioTrinity 2024 comprised a two-day in-person event and a third virtual partnering day, offering delegates from innovative life sciences companies, investors, pharma companies, science parks and professional services organisations the opportunity to network, connect and build partnerships to drive sector growth.
The event boasted three action-packed parallel tracks – one taking deep dives into business and investment through ten keynote and panel sessions, alongside two science tracks where R&D SMEs shared their cutting-edge innovation across 13 R&D Spotlight sessions.
New to BioTrinity for 2024 were academic poster presentations, giving life science academics and emerging entrepreneurs the opportunity to display a poster promoting their offering, and speed-pitch their concepts to the BioTrinity audience.
“We are delighted with the success of BioTrinity 2024,” said Stuart Rose, OBN’s CEO. “Delegate numbers are ahead of last year and the feedback has been fabulous. One of our central promises is helping members make connections, and I am thrilled that we have had 9,000 partnering requests over the course of the conference (showing a real appetite for engagement). 2023 was challenging for life sciences – investment wasn’t happening, the public markets were closed and everyone was trying to conserve cash. But there has been a tangible uptick in confidence across the board and the declining interest rates and increasing stability look set to improve the near future for the sector. It is a positive outlook for an industry that has held itself together through tough times and is now really poised to thrive in the better times ahead.”
