UK- German collaborative R&D – deadline 7th June.
- UK companies can share up to £400k grant and need to work with a German SME doing R&D.
- The aim is to target disruptive innovation with high growth potential and rapid (2-3 year) commercialisation following a 12-36 month project.
UK Singapore collaborative R&D Round 2 – deadline 3rd May.
- UK companies can share up to £350k grant and need to work with a Singaporean registered business doing R&D.
- The aim is to target disruptive innovation with high growth potential and rapid (2-3 year) commercialisation following a 24-36 month project targets, with a particular focus on Advanced manufacturing and materials, Agrifood tech, Mobility and transport, Cybersecurity, Health and life sciences.
SBRI: Overdose detection, response and intervention demonstration – deadline 21 April.
- £5m funding for feasibility and demonstration projects. Projects can be single applicants or work with a test bed for demonstrators. Demonstration funding is up to £500k a project for 12-month projects.
- The aim of this competition is to speed up the detection, response and intervention to potentially fatal overdoses using innovative digital technologies and therapeutic solutions.
SBRI: Increasing access to and capacity in Occupational Health: Phase 1 – deadline 15th March. Phase 1 is for £100k for 8 months. Phase 2 is up to £250k for up to 12 months.
Engineering Biology Collaborative Research and Development Round 1 – deadline 29th March.
- Project costs of £100k-£500k for 6-18 month projects.
- The aim is to target food systems, biomedicine, clean growth, and environmental solutions with the development or use of synthetic biology using engineering principles.
- This is to design and fabricate biological components and systems, or adoption of synthetic biology in industrial processes or development of tools and technologies that support synthetic biology.
Advancing Precision Medicine. Round 1 (open) – deadline 8th March:
- Focus on musculoskeletal and cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions excluding oncology (this round).
Round 2 (opening May 2023) will focus on oncology, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions. Projects size between £500k-£1m.
- Projects should focus on novel digital and data-enabled tools to: more accurately diagnose conditions and stratify patients to the most appropriate treatments, or increase the application of integrated and multi-modal approaches to determine risk and diagnosis and to predict prognostic outcomes.
Innovate UK will also be launching a new £30 million fund to advance life-changing cancer therapeutics delivered through the Biomedical Catalyst (BMC) programme.
- It will include 2 oncology accelerators for early-stage projects in immuno-oncology and paediatric cancer and thematic collaborative research and development support, as well as bespoke investor partnership programmes.
