We are seeking an experienced Stem Cell Lab Assistant to work in the Cellular Reprogramming Services team, which is responsible for generating iPSC lines for customers from academia and industry. It is a full-time permanent position with a 6-month probation period in the first instance.


Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Your primary role will be to work in the cell culture lab supporting the culture and maintenance of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells and skin fibroblasts
  • Generation, expansion, quality control and storage of iPSC lines
  • Basic lab maintenance and regular updating of lab inventory
  • Production of specialised media for cell cultures
  • Meeting deadlines for providing cell lines to the recipient

Required qualifications and experience

  • A BSc or MSc in a relevant field (i.e. Cell biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) with demonstrable experience in a laboratory setting
  • Proven and strong experience in aseptic cell culture and related laboratory techniques
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques, include nucleic acid extraction, PCR, qPCR, IHC etc

Desired qualifications and experience

  • Prior experience in human stem cell reprogramming
  • iPSC or other stem cell culture and maintenance
  • Lineage-specific differentiation assays
  • Flow cytometry data analysis
  • SNP data analysis
  • Experience in working with electronic lab notebooks
