BIOMOD is an annual, international competition for student research in bionanotechnology. From July to September each year undergraduate teams around the world compete by designing and carrying out their own research projects, which are presented at an international conference in October at UCSF, California, USA. Teams design and build machines and structures out of the basic molecules of life - DNA, RNA and proteins. BIOMOD is a student-driven initiative that offers a complete and unique scientific experience - from brainstorming and planning to executing scientific experiments, followed by presenting this work to peers and non-scientists internationally.
