Role Overview:

The Director, Clinical & Scientific Alliances is a member of team of scientists who function as an extension of the Inivata Medical and Scientific Affairs organization. Acting as the conduit between Inivata research and development, clinical testing and our partners (clinical, research and pharmaceutical) this role is critical in the deployment of the technology and the further enhancement of the Inivata portfolio. This role provides medical and scientific information through unbiased exchange and provide clinical/scientific support for Inivata and the Medical Affairs department at the direction of Medical and Scientific Affairs management and in collaboration with the Chief Business Officer and commercial field leadership, Clinical Operations and other teams as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify thought Leaders (TLs), and establish and maintain scientific relationships with TLs; connect TLs in academic and community centres.
  • Develop global strategies for TL engagement and align these with commercial priorities
  • Collaborate across multiple functions and within a region(s) to maximize Medical and Scientific Affairs and Commercial opportunities
  • Act as field-based partner with Clinical Operations to investigate those interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research
  • Collaborate with Medical and Scientific Affairs and Clinical Operations to enhance patient enrolment in Inivata-sponsored clinical trials with site recommendations and maintain contact with investigators participating in on-going studies
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions (as appropriate) in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings in both group and one-on-one situations
  • Cultivate TLs and Speakers on behalf of Inivata, conduct training, assessment and provide feedback to speakers
  • Provide scientific support at medical congresses
  • Provide timely feedback/information on emerging clinical/scientific data and opportunities to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Serve as a representative of the Medical and Scientific Affairs in patient advocacy groups and governmental agency discussions as needed.

HIPAA/GDPR Compliance: Position will

  • Agree to abide by Employment and Confidentiality Agreements and End User Policies
  • Commit to stay up to date on training requirements for HIPAA/GDPR
  • Understand the importance of the proper handling and disposal of ePHI and agrees to follow HIPAA/GDPR Regulations
  • Abide by the requirements for the proper disposal of equipment containing ePHI
  • Agree to report breaches and the improper handling of ePHI to the Company’s Privacy and Security Officers
  • Produce and adhere to proper validation documentation

Education/Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, PharmD, MSN or PhD strongly preferred
  • Prior field experience as a Regional Medical Liaison, or similar medical communication experience strongly preferred
  • Most recent 3-5 years clinical or research experience in oncology, oncology diagnostics and/or molecular diagnostics

Skill requirement:

  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional networks
  • Current working knowledge of US, EU and APAC legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Ability to partner and maintain relationships within the medical community
  • Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills
  • Ability to travel more than 60%
