The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) are seeking an IT Manager to assist with the day to day IT operations and provide support to the delivery of various wide reaching service and infrastructure projects across the organisation.
This is an exciting role in a rapidly growing organisation, allowing the post-holder to contribute to defining processes that will help to develop the UK’s vaccines expertise, and be a vital part of a team dedicated to providing critical response to pandemics now and in the future.
The IT Manager will work closely with the organisation to lead and manage, the build and delivery of the IT function. The IT Manager will develop appropriate policies and manage IT risks, also work closely with vendors and suppliers. The post-holder will have full responsibility of the IT services and infrastructure. With the organisations rapid growth and future expansion plans, the IT Manager will be required to continuously evaluate and develop business cases for IT investment.
The IT Manager will have previous experience of leading and providing technical assistance, with over all hands on infrastructure support including VOIP. You will require experience of management, design and implementation of IT services. In addition to the above, you will be able to offer:
Experience in pharmaceutical, vaccines, biotech or a related field
Experience of working in an MHRA, EMA or FDA regulated business
Ability to manage the IT function to build an effective team that delivers and exceeds stakeholder expectations
Configuration of IT infrastructure; deployment of operating system and application upgrades, security patches and other standard system management tasks
The Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) has been established to provide the UK’s first strategic vaccine development and advanced manufacturing capability. VMIC will fast track development and manufacture of early stage vaccine products, as well as serve as the UK’s response capability to produce vaccines against emerging infectious diseases. They have already taken a leading role in the Government’s national response to COVID-19.
