Partnership and Team Planning Manager​

This exciting and varied role is at the heart of the Medical Sciences Division’s Business Development and Partnering team and will provide cohesion and planning to team processes working closely with the Head of Team and the Business Development Managers. The role will take responsibility in three main areas of work: i) provide project management support for strategic Industry Alliances, ii) collect and evaluate team metrics to inform process and planning and iii) provide finance and grant management for the BD team’s budget portfolio.

Armed with proven experience of project/research management skills, you will take the lead in implementing and refining team and project processes, collecting, maintaining and assessing metrics on team performance and supporting strategic decision-making. In this capacity you will also support the team’s large strategic industry partnerships ensuring efficient communication and adherence to timelines and milestones. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing the budget and grant portfolio of the team and will act as the main point of contact for all aspects of grant management including communication and liaison with Research Services, Research Accounts and Departmental Administrators, where needed.

This role plays a pivotal part in the team and provides important process- and data-driven support. The appointed candidate will be highly organised and have excellent problem solving and communication skills, along with the ability to prioritise whilst working to deadlines, often under pressure. You will need to have a degree (2.1 or equivalent) and a proven track record of project and/or research management as well as budget monitoring. The ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders from diverse backgrounds is critical to the success of this role, and experience of working in a Higher Education environment would be desirable.

This post is fixed-term for 3 years and a full-time position but part-time (minimum 30 hours per week or 0.8 FTE) will be considered.
