Abingdon, UK - OBN, the membership organisation supporting the UK’s innovative life sciences companies is pleased to announce that Utility Team, who is one of the UK’s leading utilities and energy consultants, providing a wide range of value added utility has become one of their corporate sponsors.

The Utility Team are a Utility cost management consultancy who have already worked with a number of OBN members to deliver ESOS and significant energy savings. One of their key focus points is to identify key times for when to purchase energy and water on behalf of business clients to get the best price. However, just as importantly, they take a holistic approach to all aspects of utility costs and offer services such as query resolution for utility bill checking, ESOS/EPC’s plus many more energy related services. Utility Team pride themselves on being different and can fund areas such as new lighting and solar plus any other energy saving technologies through a unique interest free fund called the Revolving Green Fund.

Scott Birley, Managing Director at Utility Team commented “Becoming an OBN Corporate Member was natural progression for us as we are currently working on behalf of Immunocore Limited.

Working with Immunocore has enabled us to restructure their supply accounts and review their contracts. All gas and electricity contract are aligned to a common end date on a Utility Team Product reaching out to End of Curve (up to 5/6 years ahead), this product has given Immunocore budget security in a volatile market. It also gives them added flexibility every 6 months that when their supplier’s pricing curve opens, we have the ability to still negotiate a keener unit rate should it be possible.

We have also assisted them with their compliance and we are handling their ESOS* requirements to ensure they are working towards their legal requirements for this”.

*(ESOS; Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme; if you have more than 250 employees or a turnover of more than 3.5Million you must comply. Failure to do so will result in a £50,000 fine.)

Lee Pratley, Head of Purchasing and Membership at OBN said, ‘We are pleased to be working with Utility Team and are sure this has already and will continue to be a very beneficial partnership for our members going forward’
