PharmaVentures, a Life Sciences advisory firm based on the Oxford Business Park, is looking to appoint a Business Analyst to support its busy team with its transaction and advisory activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:                           Business Analyst

PURPOSE OF JOB:             To assist in the research and analysis of pharmaceutical biotechnology, medtech and diagnostic companies, products and technologies.

SALARY:                              £30,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        The gathering and analysis of data and information for consultancy projects and M & A mandates including strategy, partnering, market research, financial modelling and company due diligence through the use of in-house databases, external publications, the internet and industry contacts.

 

·        With supervision to plan and execute primary and secondary research pertinent to accessing commercial activities within the pharmaceutical industry and to write analyst reports.

 

·        Identification and direct contacting of appropriate companies on behalf of clients.  Liaison with interested parties to exchange documentation, data and to set up meetings.

 

·        Gather, analyse and interpret data relating to therapies, technologies, companies and products and to prepare and write reports which will form elements of internal and client reports.

 

·        Contribute to drafting of project and marketing collaterals including teasers, information memoranda, internal and external presentations.

 

·        Pro-actively develop and propose ways of analytical modelling to address special client needs, support the consultancy delivery team and present specialised aspects of analysis.

 

·        Actively participate in developing industry thought leadership by contributing at least 4 articles per year to PharmaVentures’ website, term sheet and other publications.

 

·        Ensuring that all contact details and notes associated with them are entered and up-to-date in the company’s CRM.

 

KEY SKILLS

·        Numerate, with strong analytical skills and an excellent eye for detail.

 

·        Computer literate: Good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of SharePoint would be beneficial. 

 

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyse and present complex data.

 

·        Commercially aware with the ability to communicate with credibility in commercial environments.

 ·        Intelligent, adaptable team player able to multitask and prioritise a challenging workload.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·        Life science degree.

·        Further business qualifications desirable.

·        Language skills would be an advantage.

·       Some business experience would be an advantage.
