Replimune, a biotechnology company based in at Milton Park, is developing new treatments for a range of cancers using the new approach of ‘oncolytic immunotherapy’. We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Scientist with expertise in cancer science to be part of the research team. We are especially interested in candidates with a knowledge of cancer immunotherapy.

The Senior Research Scientist will have a major role in studying the mechanism of action of new oncolytic immunotherapy products and will be responsible for:                          

  • Day to day management of ongoing projects being conducted by the research team
  • Day to day management of the laboratory including equipment testing, reagent management and safety objectives
  • Design of research projects to explore the mechanism of action of the company’s products
  • Liaising with third parties producing materials for ongoing projects
  • Liaising with third parties conducting preclinical testing

Position Requirements:

  • M.S., Ph.D. or other post-graduate degree in a relevant biological science
  • Essential: cancer science expertise – at least 3 years laboratory and/or preclinical testing experience preferable
  • Essential: relevant laboratory experience in the culture, maintenance, and manipulation of mammalian cells
  • Essential: experience in molecular biology techniques such as plasmid design, sequence analysis and qPCR
  • Essential: knowledge of tumour development and mode of action of current treatment regimes, including immunotherapy
  • Experience in preclinical testing of drug products would be desirable
  • Laboratory experience in the following areas would be desirable: working in a regulated environment, handling class II viruses, working in a category 2 suite
  • Essential: proficient in MS Office packages (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Proven organisational skills, self-motivated and attention to detail
  • Essential: good written and oral communication skills. Experience of preparing study reports and/or publications preferable

Potential candidates will be required to give a 10-15 min presentation on either the biology of cancer or the modality of a current cancer treatment to the Research Team
