Scientist/Senior Scientist (Rare variant analysis) (Oxford or Cambridge)

We are recruiting scientists to build on our existing rare variant analysis infrastructure for whole exome and genome datasets. Projects include statistical methods development and new target discovery analysis of patient data from in-house datasets.

You should have:

  • A strong background in human disease and/or population genetics.
  • Experience analysing whole-genome or whole-exome sequencing data (e.g. variant calling and QC, statistical association analysis, interpretation of rare variant signals in complex disease).
  • Experience in standard statistical approaches and modern computational tools.
  • The ability to summarize and visualize datasets to look for patterns, signals, or potential biases.
  • The ability to explain your ideas to both specialists and non-specialists.
  • The ability to work well as a member of a team

We have positions for a range of expertise, from those who have recently completed, or are due to complete, their PhDs to postdoctoral fellows and staff scientists. We will consider candidates interested in moving into genetics from other areas of data science.

Scientist/Senior Scientist (Functional genomics) (Oxford or Cambridge)

We are starting an exciting new analysis programme to integrate large-scale functional genomics data sets with our in-house database of genotype-phenotype associations. The goal of this programme is to understand the functions of disease variants at the cellular and molecular level, to help refine our ability to accurately detect promising candidate drug targets.

You should have:

  • A strong background in human disease genetics, including large scale data analysis.

  • Extensive experience in the statistical analysis of modern -omics data sets (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq or similar)

  • Experience in standard statistical approaches and modern computational tools.

  • The ability to summarize and visualize datasets to look for patterns, signals, or potential biases.

  • The ability to explain your ideas to both specialists and non-specialists.

You should ideally also have:

  • Previous experience analysing genome-wide CRISPR screens.

Scientist/Senior Scientist (CRISPR screen analysis) (Oxford or Cambridge)

We are launching a new initiative to integrate the growing amount of genome-wide CRISPR screen data into our state-of-the-art common and rare variant genetic analyses. By bringing together population and engineered genetic variation into a unified statistical framework, we believe these data can be even more powerful.

You should have:

  • A strong background in human disease genetics, including large scale data analysis.
  • Experience in standard statistical approaches and modern computational tools.
  • The ability to summarize and visualize datasets to look for patterns, signals, or potential biases.

Graduate Scientist (Oxford or Cambridge)

We are recruiting a scientist to develop and maintain our data import pipelines and to assist with our new experimental data generation initiative. The applicant's primary role will be to oversee the intake and quality control of public domain data into our internal database. In addition, they will provide scientific support for an exciting new direction for the company: generation of our first in-house experimental data sets. This will involve conducting literature reviews of promising candidate drug targets, cellular model systems and phenotypic assays. This would be an ideal position for a candidate seeking to gain experience of cutting-edge human disease genetics, bioinformatics and computational genomics.

You should have:

  • A graduate degree in a biological science

  • The ability to summarize and visualize datasets to look for patterns, signals, or potential biases.

  • The ability to explain your ideas to both specialists and non-specialists.

You should ideally have

  • Some familiarity with modern human disease and/or genomics research
