We are seeking exceptional Data Scientists interested in the challenge of developing state of the art personal risk prediction algorithms that build on Genomics plc’s data engine. As a Precision Health Data Scientist, you will integrate diverse genomics and environmental data to make precision health care a reality. While a background in genetics or risk prediction is not required, an interest in learning about genetics, and how to solve big problems in healthcare is a must.

You should have:

  • A strong quantitative background, and most likely a PhD, in a STEM subject
  • Experience with scientific programming languages, either Python or R.
  • Proven experience of learning from large-scale data sets in a scientific or engineering context.
  • The ability to summarize and visualize complex datasets to look for patterns and potential biases
  • The ability to discuss and explain complex ideas to both specialists and non-specialists.
  • Working knowledge of risk prediction and survival analysis
  • The ability to understand complex concepts from outside your own field.
