Our client is a successful Medical Devices start-up company bringing its first innovative product to market. The product is a complex and challenging instrument, combining electrical and electronic systems, power management, motor controls, sensors and communication systems. The Software Developer will be responsible for

  • Developing software through the full lifecycle process in accordance with company and medical device software standards.
  • Complete relevant documentation, design verification plans and complete verification test reports for devices and systems, according to company and medical device standard documentation procedures.

Skills and Experience


  • Able to demonstrate a methodical approach to programming and software testing.
  • Proven track record in C# programming under Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • ‘C’ programming for embedded systems.
  • Experience in Java programming.
  • Working experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Have a proven track record of analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to produce technical reports to a high standard both in terms of technical content, presentation and written English.
  • Have enthusiasm, good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.


  • Programming ASP.NET with SignalR.
  • Microsoft Entity Framework
  • Unit testing in Visual Studio
  • Design, development, implementation and validation of software for medical or other risk compliant industries.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory requirements for medical software for compliance with European and United States quality standards, with practical working knowledge of ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 11 quality systems.
  • Linux operating systems.
  • A full UK Driving License

Qualifications (Essential)

  • A first degree in computer science, information engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Good working knowledge of C, C# and Java
